Candle Care and Safety
Get the most out of your aromatherapy candle
The first time you light the candle allow the wax to melt to the outer edge of the jar until it creates a 1/4" pool. This is the breaking-in process and most important burn as it ensures an even performance throughout the life of the candle. Resulting in a cleaner and more efficient burning cycle.
Trim candle wicks to a 1/4" each time before lighting.
Always burn candles within site and never leave them unattended.
The maximum recommended burn time is 4 hours per burn. Burning longer than the recommended time is dangerous, especially when combined with improper wick trimming. Although we use heat-safe glass, an improperly trimmed wick can create a high flame and temperature, forming a deep melt pool and fatigue the glass.
Always burn the candle on a heat/flame resistant surface.
Keep away from children, pets and curtains.
Keep candles away from doors and windows that are drafty. This can provide more oxygen to the flame which can cause a more hotter, uneven burn.
Make sure to put out the candle properly. Never blow hard on flame or use the lid of the candle to put it out. Using a snuffer would be ideal.
